Martin is Head of Supply Chain Management and Member of the Executive Board at Wortmann Group. While „Availability @ POS“ and „Cost To Serve“ are his main drivers Martin describes himself as „Process Guy“. Connecting all elements in the value chain are key to success – starting with product development to sourcing, sales, supply chain and reverse logistics and preferably all of this omni-channel.
After completing his studies in business administration at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich he started his career at sporting goods company Amer Sports. There he was responsible for the implementation of SAP and as Manager Logistics EMEA. His next step was adidas where he held roles as Process Manager EMEA, Vice President Supply Chain Management EMEA and Head of IT North America. From there he moved back to Europe into his new role with Wortmann, the largest European producer of women’s shoes.
Besides clear targets and responsibilities Martin sees functioning processes as essentiel for success. At the end achievements depend on a motivated and self-reliant team. This even more so in a digital world - because it is people who make things work.
