Shaping an Aftersales Logistics Network from scratch
Our customers keep the world moving – it’s our job at Customer Services & Parts at Daimler Truck AG to support them in the best possible way. An efficient and customer-oriented parts logistics is key to success in getting vehicles back on the road all over the world as quickly as possible.
Since Daimler Truck AG became independent, a new logistics network is built tailored to the truck customers and Daimler Truck will leave previously joint logistics centers with Mercedes-Benz AG. Within a few months, around 20 Parts Centers and a completely new supply chain will be created from scratch all around the world. The transformation is currently running at full speed – all global projects have started and the first Daimler Truck Parts Centers are already in operation. A snapshot shows which milestones have already been mastered and which ones are still to come.Moderation:

11:15 Digital collaboration along the entire transport process in land transport
More and more companies are focusing on increasing the productivity of their employees. This is achieved by linking relevant systems and automatically exchanging information throughout the transport process. The procurement of transports on the spot market can be time consuming. With the right tools, this is now done digitally and efficiently in a familiar network of business partners. It is precisely with these business partners that intensive and lengthy communication takes place in the transport process. Mostly provided with outdated or incorrect data. By means of a digital transport contract, we create the basis for enormous time and cost savings in the following areas: Obtaining real-time information about the shipment and simplifying billing via factoringModeration:

11:30 Logistics moves goods AND people
Logistics - that's people. A large part of value creation is still controlled, influenced and operationally delivered by them. This fact is often given too little attention in the digitalisation of logistics processes. Technologies, topics around artificial intelligence and various cases around automation and IoT determine the debate. This discourse is right and important. However, any outcome has to be tested on people, who are the driving force in today's logistics based on division of labour, as well as on the basis of the prevailing processes in the company, its procedures and organisational framework conditions. An appropriate approach to the introduction of digital logistics solutions in conjunction with the associated transformation processes is therefore of particular importance. How this can be achieved is the topic of the speech.Moderation:

10:45 Sustainability beyond Greenwashing and Greenwishing - How logistics can provide an impetus.
Net-Zero. CO2footprint. Emission reduction. Sustainability goals, sustainability reports and small nature-related advertising company films are fired from all pipes. When it comes to the quantity of sustainability goals formulated in a media-effective way, then humanity should very soon have completed the transformation to a more sustainable way of producing, consuming and living in general. So, everything is green in the economy. Unfortunately, we also live in the age of greenwashing and greenwishing. Intoxicated by their own Net Zero incense, the sustainability apostles strut through the church of the gullible with the CO2 targets as a monstrance. But the good news is: the age of greenwashing and greenwishing is coming to an end. Painting yourself green hasn't been a USP for a while. In addition, the number of those who expose greenwashing methods is increasing. The next evolutionary step in terms of sustainability is not only just around the corner, but has already begun. So how do we emerge from this age, without brandishing the morale club, losing pride in what we have achieved so far, and now complete this transformation into truly sustainable action? A large part of the emissions are in the supply chain. Logistics as a discipline is therefore an integral part of the overall emission and consequently it should also play a central role in any sustainability strategy, which it does not always do for the time being. Ecosystem thinking, open innovation, collaboration, but above all the collection and sharing of data are the impulses that can, maybe even have to, be set.Moderation:

14:45 Networked logistics: how digital collaboration works successfully in practice and creates transparency and efficiency in the supply chain
How can you share only the transport data needed for transparency in the supply chain? Having transport data available in real time on different platforms is the prerequisite for transparent logistics and delivery processes. Digital networking of all participants along the supply chain creates the required transparency and, at the same time, ensures greater efficiency. With the TrailerConnect® Data Management Center as a central platform, the transport data of your fleet is shared with third parties on an order-related basis without releasing data from the entire freight forwarding network. 17:15 The Fusion of Order & Transportation Management: Streamline Planning and Execution
Transportation management systems (TMS) are typically stand-alone units that work alongside order management systems (OMS), which group orders and then transfer them to the TMS in batches to process and execute shipments. It’s a legacy approach in which the OMS essentially plans orders and the TMS executes on that plan. But what happens when exceptions arise, expedites are needed, or unexpected orders come through after a batch has been released? In this session, we’ll talk about some of the exciting ways in which supply chain orchestration technology has eliminated this siloed approach and enabled logistics teams to make faster, cost-effective decisions in an increasingly complex, global, and ecosystem-driven supply chain.Moderation:

14:30 AI in logistics: Do you still make decisions yourself or do you already let decisions be made?
Every day, each of us faces with 20,000 decisions. Starting with the simple decision of what to wear today, to the fastest way to get to work, to how to complete work assignments on time. Every 3 seconds we make a decision and each of them costs us energy. Psychologists speak of "decision fatigue". In the increasingly complex world of logistics, right decisions must be made from the flood of data and information. Hardly feasible without software support. Let intelligent optimization software make the logistics decisions for you and save your energy for the really critical decisions. In our presentation, we will show how optimization software based on AI and OR supports plant logistics through digital decision making, from delivery to the complete yard management processes to dispatch.Moderation:
