Christoph Petzoldt has been the head of the Robotics and Automation department at the Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics (BIBA) since 2020. He studied Systems Engineering (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) with a focus on automation technology and robotics at the University of Bremen, graduating in 2017. Until 2019, he worked in the Robotics Research Group at the University of Bremen, specializing in machine learning and the learning of robotic skills through human demonstration. Since then, Mr. Petzoldt has been working at BIBA, leading R&D projects in process automation and human-machine interaction in production and logistics. His research focuses on human-robot collaboration, assistance systems, autonomous transport systems, and exoskeletons. As part of his dissertation, he is investigating dynamic task allocation between humans and robots in collaborative assembly. Since 2024, he has also been a lecturer in Technical Logistics at the University of Bremen.
