VDMA

For over five years, VDA 5050, a communication protocol for mobile robots and central control
systems, has been continuously developed in collaboration between the VDA and VDMA
associations. In the VDMA working group VDA 5050, Susanne Junghans has been actively involved
on behalf of the BMW Group spin-off, idealworks. With Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering
as well as Mechatronics and Robotics from TUM, she oversees the integration of partner robots into
idealworks' in-house control system, the automation platform AnyFleet. Her comprehensive expertise
spans from the development of the standard to its application to mobile robot fleets with varying
degrees of autonomy.
